Kyrgyzstan Enters Global Soft Power Index for the First Time

Consulting organization Brand Finance has included Kyrgyzstan in its Global Soft Power Index 2024, with the country scoring 29 points and ranking 148th.

The soft power index measures a country's ability to influence the international community through persuasion and attractiveness, rather than coercion. It reflects the positive reputation of a state on the international stage, shaping other countries' willingness to voluntarily build partnerships with it.

The index was compiled based on a survey of over 170,000 people from different countries to assess the perception of 193 states worldwide. Each country was evaluated on 55 different indicators, including business and trade, media and communications, culture and heritage, education and science, people and values, international relations, governance, sustainable development, influence, and reputation.

Tajikistan ranked 145th, Uzbekistan 101st, and Kazakhstan 80th. Kyrgyzstan is not the only newcomer in the Global Soft Power Index 2024. This year, Belarus, Moldova, Mongolia, and Tajikistan have also entered the index for the first time.
