President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, who arrived to participate in the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS countries. This was reported by the online publication "TurkmenPortal".
During the meeting, the sides discussed the expansion of trade and economic cooperation. The growth in the volumes of mutual trade was noted. Mishustin emphasized that the trade turnover between the countries increased by 22% in the first quarter of 2024.
The parties also discussed cooperation in the cultural, humanitarian, scientific, educational, and healthcare fields. The Russian Prime Minister noted that in the Russian Federation, the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fraghi is widely celebrated, coinciding with the year under the motto "The Treasure of the Mind Makhtumkuli Fraghi".
