Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have agreed to install devices to accurately measure the volume of water consumed by both countries. Kazakhstan will install meters in Uzbekistan, and Uzbekistan will do the same in Kazakhstan. The countries will exchange information online. Experts from both countries are currently deciding on the locations for installing the water measuring devices. Negotiations are also ongoing with international organizations to involve foreign specialists in the project.
"The installation of meters will allow online monitoring of the volumes of water consumed by both countries. Already in April, we plan to begin negotiations on implementing similar projects with other neighboring countries," noted Kazakhstan's Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Nurzhan Nurzhigitov.
