The composition of the Osh City Council has increased by 2.6 times as a result of the administrative-territorial reform. Previously, the city council had 45 deputies, and now there are 117. On March 20, a session was held with the participation of deputies from the attached rural districts of Kara-Suu district.
In a pilot mode, the following rural districts and areas have been attached to the southern capital:
- Kyzyl-Kyshtak rural district (population - 42,207, number of mandates - 31);
- Toloykon rural district (population - 32,256, number of mandates - 31);
- Areas of Jany-Maala, Jim, and Jiydelik of Nariman rural district (population - 12,877, number of mandates - 7);
- Area of Imam-Ata of Shark rural district (population - 5,209, number of mandates - 3);
- Areas of Ak-Buura 1, 2, 3, and 4 of Papan rural district (population - 1,833).
As a result of the attachment, the population of Osh has increased to 454,858 people from 361,300. The number of city council deputies reached 117 (previously 45). In total, as a result of changes in the administrative-territorial boundaries of cities and rural districts, the number of local councils has decreased from 484 to 268.
