23 Million Soms Allocated for Early Elections Preparation in Kyrgyzstan

The Central Election Commission announced today that 23,934,000 soms have been allocated for the preparation and conduct of early elections for deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh in the Batken single-mandate electoral district No. 2 and the Kara-Suu single-mandate electoral district No. 9.

The early elections are scheduled for April 28, 2024, following a decree signed by President Sadyr Japarov. Tologon Aitikeev, the head of the CEC's electoral process organization department, outlined the election calendar:

- By March 6, the preliminary list of voters will be posted on the state portal www.tizme.gov.kg.

- By March 12, the preliminary list of voters will be displayed at the respective polling stations for public review.

- By April 8, the control list of voters will be posted for review.

- Until April 17, the CEC will accept and process voters' applications regarding errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in the voter list.

- By April 23, the final list of voters will be compiled, distributed according to the boundaries of the polling stations.

The timeline for candidate nomination and registration is as follows:

- Candidate nominations must be submitted by March 28.

- Candidate registrations will be processed until April 8.

- Pre-election campaigning will take place from April 8 to April 27.

Voting will be held on April 28 from 8:00 to 20:00, with the results expected to be announced by May 12.
