The Ministry of Education and Science's working group is developing a roadmap for the phased transition to a 12-year education system. This was announced today at a press conference by the head of the ministry, Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva.
According to Kendirbaeva, a new state program called "Altyn Qazyq" is being implemented to transform school education, with the transition to a 12-year education model as its main direction. The main goal is to align with the global education system, as 150 out of 193 UN countries operate on a 12-year education system. If Kyrgyzstan adopts the new model, graduates will have opportunities in the job market and education in 150 countries.
Kendirbaeva highlighted that the "Altyn Qazyq" program also includes other areas such as strengthening preschool education and approving the purchase of 46 best textbooks in natural sciences and English language based on the Cambridge program. The minister stated that the necessary funds for these purposes are available.
