During a parliamentary committee meeting, Deputy Kunduzbek Sulaimanov inquired whether the Ministry of Energy had taken measures against the company "Gaztorg Service," which left residents without heating in December 2023. The deputy has been raising the issue of revoking the company's license for the second year in a row. Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibraev stated that revocation of the license can only be done through legal proceedings.
Following negotiations with the company representatives, they committed to ensuring uninterrupted gas supply. The State Agency for Regulation of the Fuel and Energy Complex (GARTEK) issues licenses, and revocation can only be done through the court. The Ministry instructed GARTEK to develop a mechanism for license revocation.
In December 2023, residents of two large residential complexes in Bishkek were left without heating due to debts owed to the gas supply company, OsOO "Gaztorg Service." The company claims non-payment is due to the population's debts. However, it was revealed that subscribers owe approximately 700,000 soms, while the company owes 3.7 million soms. Residents expressed grievances over the company's failure to pursue debt collection and the resulting lack of heating. The company resumed gas supply after residents turned to the State Committee for National Security.
