Kyrgyzstan Maintains Educational Sovereignty, Says Minister

in Politics / Kyrgyzstan - by

The Minister of Education and Science, Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, announced today at a press conference that Kyrgyzstan has achieved educational sovereignty. She emphasized that donors do not impose a switch to a 12-year education model. Kendirbaeva also highlighted that as UN members, they may receive grants in the future to equip the final classes with necessary equipment. Currently, Kyrgyzstan's economy is independent, allowing the government to make autonomous decisions.

Under the new model, grades 1-5 will be considered elementary, 6-9 as middle school, and 10-12 as high school. It is envisioned that high school students will be able to acquire vocational skills such as cooking, locksmithing, and electrical work. This will require proper equipment to be provided.
