During a parliamentary committee meeting on the fuel and energy complex, subsoil use, and industrial policy, officials highlighted their role in the disappearance of smog over Bishkek. Deputy Kunduzbek Sulaimanov pointed out the significant reduction in smog this year compared to the previous year, attributing it to efforts such as launching gas-powered buses and promoting the use of clean fuel by the population. He urged for simplification of gasification processes and easier access to gas for the winter.
Furthermore, a deputy mentioned the prioritization of gasification in residential areas on the outskirts of Bishkek by "Gazprom Kyrgyzstan." He credited the disappearance of smog to the continuous efforts of deputies in raising the issue during committee meetings. The meeting also addressed the implementation of a resolution on gas supply and gasification in Kyrgyzstan.
Despite Bishkek maintaining a leading position in the global air pollution ranking, with minimal improvement since late February according to World Air Quality data, the collaborative efforts of officials and companies have notably contributed to the reduction of smog over the city.
