During a video conference on "Biosecurity of EAEU Countries," Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Onishchenko announced that Russia will finance the establishment of a modern biosecurity laboratory in Kyrgyzstan. The construction of the laboratory is planned as part of a memorandum of understanding on biological security signed during President Vladimir Putin's visit to the republic in October.
"Within Russia's budget, a laboratory will be built in Kyrgyzstan with special capabilities. The cooperation includes training of medical professionals, unified control methods, opening of modern diagnostic centers, availability of vaccines for new infections or outbreaks of existing viruses. There will be a modern laboratory base," stated Gennady Onishchenko.
