Migrants in Russia to Have Digital Profiles by 2024 for Improved Tracking and Security

in Politics / Kyrgyzstan - by

By the end of 2024, migrants in Russia will have digital profiles consolidating all available information about them in a unified system. This system will indicate migrants' movements, expiration dates of their permits, and their places of residence. The government aims to better track foreign workers' movements and ensure security. Targeted job placements and subsequent residency in specialized dormitories could also address the issue of uncontrolled migrant movements effectively.

There are currently 7-10 million migrants in Russia with various legal statuses, entering based on different documents and intergovernmental agreements. In other news, a terrorist attack occurred on March 22 at the "Crocus City Hall" near Moscow, where thousands attended a concert. Four unidentified individuals in camouflage attire without masks entered the building and started shooting people at close range. Nine suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack.
