Kyrgyzstan's Kara-Suu electoral district left without a deputy in the Jogorku Kenesh after Iskender Matraimov resigned. Elections for a new MP will take place on April 28th.

The Central Election Commission has stopped accepting documents for the vacant position. Currently, there are 12 candidates, with the number possibly decreasing. Before officially becoming candidates, individuals must meet various requirements of electoral legislation.

Among those who have decided to participate in the parliamentary race are:

1. Bakytbek Bakir - brother of former MP Tursunbay Bakir, running in the Osh district.

2. Raimzhan Kurbanov - President of the "Kyrgyz tili" society.

3. Tolkun Ergeyev - Head of the interregional office of the legal aid service at the Ministry of Justice, who ran for parliament in 2021.

4. Ganisher Badalov - Delegate of the People's Kurultai.

5. Sanzhar Alimzhan uulu - Entrepreneur who previously ran with the "Ishenim" party.

6. Damirbek Davlyanov - Retired Ministry of Internal Affairs officer who previously ran in 2022 without success.

7. Turdubek Orunbayev - Private entrepreneur and one of the founders of the social-political party "Sila v edinstve".

8. Ilimbek Kubanychbekov - Assistant to a Jogorku Kenesh deputy who participated in the 2020 elections with the "Kyrgyzstan" party.

9. Stalbek Azhimamatov - Director of "Eurasia Stroy Group" LLC.

10. Ruslan Mamatov - Temporarily unemployed and a former district akim.

11. Amirbek Djunusov - Unemployed with no public information available.

12. Rustam Mamazakirov - Temporarily unemployed, previously a lecturer at Osh State University.

The upcoming elections in the Kara-Suu district are expected to bring new representation to the Jogorku Kenesh, with a diverse range of candidates vying for the vacant seat.
