President Guarantees No Persecution After Signing Law on "Foreign Agents"

President Sadyr Japarov has assured that there will be no persecution following the signing of the law on "foreign agents," officially known as the draft law "On Amending the Law 'On Non-Commercial Organizations'." This statement was made by Japarov on his Facebook page.

He stressed that non-governmental organizations and their foreign partners will now need to register with the Ministry of Justice and open bank accounts, ensuring transparency in their operations. Japarov reassured that there will be no chaos as before, and NGOs will operate openly.

Addressing concerns raised by NGOs about potential persecution, Japarov guaranteed that there would be no such actions taken. He emphasized the importance of transparency and equal conditions for all organizations, including foreign donors being able to track the usage of funds.

Japarov criticized NGOs for spreading false information and affirmed that the government has no secrets to hide. He encouraged organizations to work honestly and transparently, stating that the Republic aims to prevent any dubious actions in the future.

The President's message focused on promoting accountability and openness in the operations of NGOs and their foreign partners, signaling a shift towards greater transparency in Kyrgyzstan's non-profit sector.
