Deputy Mirgul Temirbaeva proposes fines for fundraising in schools

in Politics / Kyrgyzstan - by

Deputy Mirgul Temirbaeva has put forward a bill to penalize fundraising in schools. The proposed law aims to ensure the right to free education, prevent illegal fundraising, and establish public funds in schools.

Temirbaeva reminded that President Sadyr Japarov had previously banned illegal fundraising and the creation of public funds in schools. The Ministry of Finance and local authorities are tasked with allocating funds annually for school repairs and necessary equipment purchases.

Despite the presidential ban, fundraising in schools persists. Therefore, Temirbaeva suggests holding accountable those involved in illegal fundraising under the Kyrgyz Republic Code of Administrative Offenses. She proposes amending Chapter 12 to include penalties for individuals and entities engaged in illegal fundraising in state educational institutions, with fines ranging from 20,000 to 60,000 soms.
