Misinformation Clarified by President's Press Secretary Regarding Bishkek CHP

in Politics / Kyrgyzstan - by

The President's press secretary, Askat Alagozov, has provided clarification on recent information regarding the Bishkek CHP. He stated that the reports of a costly repair of the thermal power plant do not align with reality. Earlier, there were claims that TVEA would invest $1.14 billion in repairing two blocks of the CHP, but this was denied by the Ministry of Energy.

Alagozov mentioned that the dissemination of this false information was done by a responsible employee of the National Investment Agency. The employee who made this mistake has been dismissed. The motive behind spreading this false information is currently under investigation to determine if there was any intention to provoke the public.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Energy and TVEA have signed a memorandum of cooperation for the major overhaul of blocks 3 and 4 of the CHP in the capital. The contract amount is not yet disclosed.
