President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, has signed a decree appointing Mirlan Dzhekshenov as the mayor of Kara-Balta in the Chui region. The announcement was made by the presidential press service.
This decision was made in accordance with Article 47 of the Law on Local State Administration and Local Self-Government Bodies, as well as the President's Decree on conducting an administrative-territorial reform on a pilot basis at the level of rural districts and cities in Kyrgyz Republic.
As part of the ongoing administrative-territorial reform, Kara-Balta has been merged with the village of Kalininskoye (excluding the areas of Toktosh, Sad-Verkha, Upper, and Ilyich) and the areas of Gidropartiya and Indom of the Krasnovostochny rural district.
