Proposal to Register Right-Hand Drive Cars Imported from Abkhazia and Armenia

in Politics / Kyrgyzstan - by

During a session of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Balbak Tulobaev suggested to Prime Minister Akylbek Zhaparov to register right-hand drive cars imported from Abkhazia and Armenia. He mentioned that around 200,000 cars could be registered, potentially bringing in over 10 billion soms to the state treasury. These funds could be directed towards energy, agriculture, and mortgages. Tulobaev even mentioned that a draft law is ready for this initiative.

In response, Prime Minister Akylbek Zhaparov raised concerns about the criminal activities related to fake car documents and illegal car registrations. He emphasized that illegally imported cars cannot be legalized, but they could be restricted to rural areas for agricultural purposes, barring them from transporting passengers or goods within cities.

This is not the first time Balbak Tulobaev has raised this issue, as he previously addressed President Sadyr Zhaparov and Prime Minister Akylbek Zhaparov through social media, suggesting the registration of right-hand drive cars from Armenia.
