Reorganization of Chuyskaya Hospital Discussed by Health Minister

in Politics / Kyrgyzstan - by

The Minister of Health, Alymkadyr Beyshenaliyev, visited the Chuyskaya United Regional Hospital to discuss the reorganization of the hospital within the framework of the administrative-territorial reform. Beyshenaliyev emphasized the increasing service area and population requiring emergency medical care each year. As part of the ongoing reform, the decision was made to change the status of the Chuyskaya Hospital from "Regional" to "City Clinical Hospital of Emergency Care No. 2" to serve the eastern part of the city.

Currently, the hospital houses departments such as ENT, ophthalmology, cardiology, surgery, urology, traumatology, resuscitation, outpatient diagnostics, therapy, neurology, gynecology, and pediatrics, with a capacity of 350 beds, including a maternity ward with 70 beds. The upcoming restructuring aims to increase bed capacity by merging the gynecology and maternity departments and consider transferring the pediatric department to a suitable structure. There is a need to increase the number of doctors, as well as middle and junior medical staff.

To provide comprehensive emergency care, the opening of an angioneurological department, emergency medical care department, and intensive care units in each department is deemed necessary. The Minister instructed the hospital management to promptly assess the requirements in coordination with relevant specialists from the Ministry of Health to ensure the hospital's full functionality in delivering emergency care.

It is worth noting that Kyrgyzstan has initiated an administrative-territorial reform in a pilot mode in six regions, Bishkek, and Osh. This reform aims to consolidate rural districts and cities, nearly tripling the capital's territory while maintaining the same number of administrative districts.
