Registration of Candidates for Kyrgyz Parliament Elections Concludes in Osh Electoral District No. 7

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has finalized the registration of candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Osh Electoral District No. 7. The mandate became vacant after Aibek Osmonov resigned from his position, leading to the election of a new deputy on April 28th.

A total of 18 candidates initially submitted their intention to participate in the by-elections, with four later withdrawing their candidacies. Currently, 14 candidates have been officially registered, including one woman, Yuliya Liliental.

Yuliya Liliental, who has previously participated in elections in the Suzak Electoral District No. 13 in 2021, is among the registered candidates. Despite finishing second to last in the previous election, she has remained active in the political sphere, having also attempted to run for president in 2020.

Another notable candidate is Tursunbay Bakir uulu, a familiar face in election campaigns who has previously run for president and served as a deputy in the Kyrgyz Parliament. Avazbek Abdugaparov, an ex-deputy of the Kyrgyz Parliament, and Maxatbek Mamatkulov, a current deputy of the Osh City Council, are also in the running.

Bekbolot Arzibaev, Talantbek Kadyrov, Ilyichbek Ergeshov, Bekmurza Ergeshov, Emil Karaev, Abdivali Baltabaev, Kaltarbek Kydyrov, Nurlan Tanabaev, Abdilaziz Mamaev, and Bakhtiyar Mamadzhanov are among the other candidates vying for the vacant parliamentary seat.

The diverse pool of candidates reflects the democratic process unfolding in Kyrgyzstan, with individuals from various professional backgrounds and experiences stepping up to represent the interests of the people in Osh Electoral District No. 7. As the election date approaches, the political landscape in the region is set to witness an engaging and competitive electoral race.
