During a parliamentary committee meeting on international affairs, defense, security, and migration, Deputy Kubanychbek Samakov raised concerns about accountability within the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision following the recent accident at the Bishkek Thermal Power Plant.
"Those who inspected the plant before the explosion and certified it as safe should be held accountable. The negligence led to the accident," emphasized Kubanychbek Samakov.
On the night of February 2, an accident occurred at the capital's thermal power plant. The cause of the explosion remains unknown. Five people were injured, with three hospitalized and two receiving outpatient treatment. Schools and kindergartens in Bishkek switched to online learning. Full heating and hot water supply in the city were restored by February 7. On February 9, the republican headquarters announced the completion of the cleanup efforts at the site.
