in Politics / Kyrgyzstan - by

The Ministry of Education and Science has issued an order prohibiting the organization of paid olympiads among school students. The department's press service made this announcement.

From now on, olympiads will only be held among students of general education organizations based on regulations approved by the Ministry of Education and Science.

"Directors of district, city departments/boards of education, regional educational methodological centers, and general education organizations are prohibited from organizing and conducting paid olympiads for students. Leaders who fail to comply with the order will bear personal responsibility," the ministry added.

It is worth noting that during a parliamentary committee on social policy, deputy Nadira Narmatova stated that students were being charged 1,000 soms each to participate in school olympiads.
