Kyrgyz Ambassador to the US and Canada, Baktybek Amanbaev, met with US Deputy Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights, Uzra Zeya. The meeting aimed to discuss the development of democracy and human rights situation in Kyrgyz Republic. Information on the recently adopted law on non-profit organizations was also presented during the discussion.
Ambassador Amanbaev provided detailed insights on the human rights situation in the country and the measures being taken to enhance democratic institutions.
Uzra Zeya acknowledged Kyrgyzstan's commitment to defending democratic principles and expressed readiness to collaborate on human rights and democratic values. Both sides expressed mutual intention to continue constructive cooperation across a wide range of bilateral partnership areas, as stated in the press release by the diplomatic representation.
