The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Jeanbek Kulubaev, recently engaged in discussions with the head of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Jeyhun Bayramov. The talks primarily centered on the current state and future prospects of bolstering the strategic and fraternal relations between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.
Both Foreign Ministers conveyed their willingness to elevate the trade turnover between the two nations through collaborative initiatives. These efforts involve the activities of the Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation, the facilitation of business forums, and the implementation of investment projects through the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund. There was a particular emphasis on strengthening investment cooperation in areas such as transportation and logistics, renewable energy sources, and hydropower.
Furthermore, the officials deliberated on the upcoming high-level mutual visits, the construction of infrastructure projects in both Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan, the reinstatement of the Baku-Bishkek-Baku flight route, and the arrangement of Cultural Days between the two countries. Additionally, they reached an agreement to sustain collaboration within international organizations, including mutual support for advancing the candidatures of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.
