Foreign Ministers of Russia and Central Asian Countries to Meet in Minsk

Today, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will meet with the heads of foreign ministries of Central Asian countries in Minsk on the sidelines of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting is set to discuss the implementation of agreements reached during the first Russia - Central Asia summit on October 14, 2022, in Astana. Key international and regional issues will be on the agenda, with a particular focus on environmental problems and prospects for cooperation in this important area.

The participation of Minister Lavrov in the seventh meeting of the heads of foreign ministries of Russia and the Central Asian states - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan - signifies the ongoing commitment to strengthening ties and addressing shared challenges among the countries in the region.
