The Central Election Commission (CEC) has received the first statements of intent to run for deputies in the Jogorku Kenesh in the Batken and Kara-Suu districts. Alimberdi Begmatov has submitted his application for self-nomination in the Batken district, while Ganisher Badalov has done the same in Kara-Suu.
The CEC reminded that the nomination of candidates in both districts will end on March 26. It is worth noting that by-elections for deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh in the Batken and Kara-Suu single-mandate districts will take place on April 28. These seats became vacant after the CEC prematurely terminated the powers of Iskender Matraimov and Nurlan Razhabaliev based on their submitted statements.
