Investigation Progress on Assault Case of Police Officer in Kant

During a joint session of parliamentary committees on constitutional legislation and law enforcement, Deputy Meikinbek Abdaliev inquired about the status of the case regarding the assault on a police officer in Kant. The incident, which occurred on April 14th, involved a prosecutor, a tax official, and a municipal employee according to reports.

Deputy Abdaliev sought updates on the progress of the investigation, prompting Deputy Interior Minister Erkebek Ashirkhojaev to reveal that three individuals were involved in the assault on the police officer. The victim is currently hospitalized, forensic examinations have been initiated, and a criminal case for hooliganism has been opened.

Prosecutor General Kurmankul Zulushev mentioned that a report had been received indicating the involvement of a prosecutor among the assailants. He assured that the investigation is ongoing and appropriate actions will be taken upon its completion.

The deputy urged for a thorough conclusion to the case. It is worth noting that the press service of the Internal Affairs Department of the Chui region reported that a police officer in Kante was assaulted, resulting in a broken jaw. A criminal case for hooliganism has been initiated under the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
