Second Meeting of Central Asian and Gulf States Foreign Ministers Held in Tashkent

The second meeting of the heads of foreign ministries of the strategic dialogue "Council of Cooperation between Central Asian Countries and Arab States of the Persian Gulf" took place in Tashkent. According to Asia Today, the development of cooperation in various directions was discussed, focusing on the implementation of agreements reached at the first summit in Jeddah in July 2023.

Delegations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as from the Gulf States - Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia participated in the meeting. Foreign ministers also discussed current international and regional issues, exchanging views on the situations in Afghanistan and the Middle East, as well as the Israel-Palestine conflict.

A joint statement was issued at the meeting, with the agreements reached serving as the basis for the preparation and organization of the second summit of the strategic dialogue, scheduled to be held in Samarkand in 2025. The next meeting of foreign ministers of Central Asian and Gulf States is set to take place in Kuwait in 2026.
