in Politics / Kyrgyzstan - by

The President has signed a Decree "On the introduction of the state child deposit 'Kelichekke Salym'." This initiative aims to create favorable conditions for the development of children who are orphans, ensuring their rights to improve health, housing conditions, and education. Starting from June 1, every child who is an orphan living in the Kyrgyz Republic will have a state child deposit "Kelichekke Salym" at the OJSC "Aiy Bank."

The funds in these deposits can be utilized by the orphans after they reach 18 years of age, and can be directed towards improving their health, housing conditions, and education as per their choice. The existing state child deposits "Kelichekke Salym" will be annually replenished from the republican budget. The Cabinet of Ministers will be responsible for approving the procedures for opening, replenishing, and managing the funds of the state child deposit.

Additionally, they will calculate and establish a unified amount of funds, not less than 500,000 soms per child upon reaching the age of 18. The necessary amendments will be made to the Law "On the republican budget for 2024 and the planned period of 2025-2026," ensuring the allocation of funds in the republican budget annually for these purposes. This initiative is a significant step towards providing support and opportunities for orphans in the Kyrgyz Republic.
