Kyrgyzstan has implemented the new 2024 citizen ID cards and 2023 passports according to a government resolution on Toktom.kg.
The cabinet approved regulations for the ID cards, citizen passports, and procedures for processing and issuing them. The 2017 and 2020 model passports will be issued until stocks last, after which citizens will receive the updated versions. Infocom under the Ministry of Digital Development is authorized for personalizing the new passports.
The resolution will come into effect ten days after official publication. The Ministry of Digital Development proposed issuing passports with a new flag design starting in May. The public discussion includes transitioning from old to new passports smoothly.
