Reforming Parliament: GKNB Head Discusses Recent Developments

in Politics / Kyrgyzstan - by

In an interview with "Kadam-MEDIA," the head of the GKNB, Kamchybek Tashiev, shared his views on the dissolution of parliament. Tashiev highlighted that some parliament members lost their mandates due to connections with thieves. He suggested the possibility of dissolving the entire parliament instead of addressing issues individually.

Tashiev pointed out that there was a group of deputies in the Jogorku Kenesh who tarnished the parliament's reputation. He explained that election campaigns require significant funds, and these deputies obtained their mandates by taking money from thieves and corrupt individuals, promising unrealistic benefits to the people.

The GKNB head emphasized that the parliament has been almost cleansed of such individuals. He argued against the dissolution of parliament, noting that there are also clean deputies who earned their mandates through the support of the people. Tashiev stressed that these deputies should not be held accountable for the actions of others suspected of misconduct within the parliament.
