Officials Investigate Discrepancy in Trade Data Between Kyrgyzstan and China

in Politics / Kyrgyzstan - by

During a parliamentary committee meeting, the Chairman of the State Customs Service, Samat Isabekov, addressed the discrepancy in statistical data on foreign trade between Kyrgyzstan and China. Deputy Aisara Abdybaeva pointed out the significant difference in data between the two countries.

Isabekov explained that 80% of goods are imported into Kyrgyzstan from China. He mentioned that Chinese authorities only provide information on the country where the cargo enters, with some goods remaining in Kyrgyzstan before being transited to their final destination. Negotiations with Chinese customs authorities have been initiated to resolve the discrepancies.

It is worth noting that the comparison of statistical data between Kyrgyzstan and China over the past four years reveals a sharp increase in imports from China to Kyrgyzstan, with a $33.5 billion gap in trade data.
