Kyrgyz Delegation Concludes Productive Visit to the United States

The official visit of Akylbek Japarov to the United States has come to an end, as reported by the government's press service. Leading a delegation from Kyrgyzstan, Japarov participated in the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C.

During the meetings, various discussions took place with the leadership of several organizations, including the World Bank, IMF, USAID, American-Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Investment Bank, International Finance Corporation, investment company Franklin and Templeton, Citibank, Rotschild & Co, International Republican Institute (IRI), and consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal.

In Washington, a ceremony was held for the signing of bilateral agreements. These agreements include financing of $35 million for the "Development of Sustainable Agri-food Clusters" project and an additional $7.64 million for the "Sustainable Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Development Project," funded by the World Bank.

Furthermore, agreements were reached regarding cooperation on the construction of the Kambarata-1 Hydropower Plant and attracting investments in other sectors. The Kyrgyz delegation also held meetings with representatives of various technological corporations, including visits to the headquarters of Apple Inc. in San Francisco, Nvidia Corporation, Hewlett-Packard Company, and a meeting with venture capitalist and entrepreneur Tim Draper.
