Kyrgyz President Signs Law Ratifying Agreement with Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has signed the Law "On the Ratification of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund on the Conditions of the Fund's Presence in the Kyrgyz Republic, signed on April 8, 2024 in Bishkek." The document was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh on April 17, 2024.

The aim is to create favorable conditions for the activities of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund. The agreement states that the Fund's premises are inviolable, and representatives of Kyrgyz state bodies may enter only with the consent of the co-chairs of the Fund's board from the Kyrgyz and Azerbaijani sides.

Furthermore, officials and employees of the Fund who are not citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic enjoy privileges, immunities, exemptions, and benefits provided to diplomatic representatives of corresponding rank in Kyrgyzstan in accordance with international law and the country's practice.

Items and other imported property intended for the official use of the Fund are exempted in Kyrgyzstan from customs duties, taxes, and related fees in the manner provided for international organizations and their representations.
