Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov arrived in Azerbaijan today, on a state visit. The President's press service confirmed his arrival. He was welcomed at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku by Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev.
The international airport was adorned with the flags of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan, a red carpet was rolled out, and an honor guard was in formation to welcome President Japarov.
During the visit on April 24-25, President Japarov will hold bilateral talks with Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev to discuss current issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as the prospects for further development and strengthening of effective collaboration.
The second meeting of the Intergovernmental Council is also planned, where a Joint Declaration of the Presidents and several agreements aimed at deepening partnership in trade, economics, culture, and humanitarian spheres will be signed. The heads of states will also participate in the ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the construction of a secondary school in the village of Khidirli.
