President Sadyr Japarov conducted negotiations with President Ilham Aliyev in a closed format during his state visit to Baku, Azerbaijan. The discussions encompassed bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, investment, energy, transportation, agriculture, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Both sides acknowledged the significant progress achieved in their collaboration over the past two years, emphasizing the new quality of their partnership.
Following the closed-door meeting, the two presidents held the second session of the Intergovernmental Council between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan. President Aliyev highlighted the alignment of both countries' approaches to cooperation, both bilaterally and multilaterally. He also noted the continuous communication and consultations between relevant ministries of the two nations on various mutual interests.
President Japarov expressed confidence that the visit would boost relations between the two countries and that the signed agreements would enhance cooperation. He affirmed Kyrgyzstan's readiness for further development in existing and future collaborative mechanisms. The heads of state listened to reports from relevant governmental bodies of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan on the status and prospects of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, cultural-humanitarian, energy, and agricultural sectors.
