President Sadyr Japarov made a statement to the media following the negotiations with President Ilham Aliyev in Baku, as reported by the state leader's press service.

In his statement, President Sadyr Japarov expressed gratitude to Ilham Heydarovich Aliyev for the invitation to visit Azerbaijan. He highlighted that during the second session of the Intergovernmental Council, substantive negotiations were held with the respected President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on various bilateral cooperation issues. The leaders also listened to reports from ministers of both countries. Decisions were made to further expand bilateral cooperation.

Additionally, a joint declaration on the establishment of enhanced relations of strategic partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan was signed following the meeting. Discussions included the prospects of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund, as well as the construction of a five-star hotel by the Azerbaijani side on the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, and the construction of a secondary school by the Kyrgyz side in the Agdam district.

The school construction is Kyrgyzstan's contribution to the peace-building efforts in conflict-affected regions. Tomorrow, we plan to lay the foundation stone before commencing the construction of this school.

An agreement was also reached to hold the next meeting of the joint Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation.

Several bilateral documents were signed to strengthen cooperation in various fields. Notably, a five-year comprehensive development program of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan was signed, serving as the foundational roadmap for bilateral interaction in the medium term.

President Sadyr Japarov emphasized the signing of an agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Azerbaijan on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion on income, which is crucial for promoting mutual economic activities between the two countries.

He reminded that this week, the Days of Kyrgyzstan's Culture in Azerbaijan will take place in Baku and expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for honoring the memory of the world-renowned writer Chingiz Aitmatov, whose monument was unveiled today in Baku.

"I congratulated the esteemed Ilham Heydarovich and, on this occasion, extend my congratulations to the entire fraternal Azerbaijani people for being granted the right to host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change this year. It is indeed a significant event, and we are sincerely pleased that our fraternal country is hosting such a major event," noted the president.
