President Sadyr Japarov has signed the Law "On the Ratification of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of Turkey on the Establishment and Activities of Cultural Centers, signed on June 9, 2021 in Ankara." The law was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh on February 7, 2024.
The agreement envisions the establishment of cultural centers by Kyrgyzstan and Turkey in both countries to promote the development of friendly relations and bilateral cooperation in the fields of culture, science, education, support for compatriots living abroad, preservation of the native language and national cultural identity. It also aims to facilitate mutual understanding of the languages, histories, and cultures of the two countries, establish direct contacts, and enhance cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
