On Sunday, April 28, special elections will take place in the Kara-Suu Constituency No. 9 following the vacancy of the mandate after Iskender Matraimov resigned.
Seven candidates are participating in the elections:
1. Stalbek Azhimamatov - Director of LLC "Eurasia Construction Group" and former statistician-economist at the Nariman Kara-Suu district administration.
2. Bakytbek Bakir - Running for deputy of the Kyrgyz Republic for the second time in the Kara-Suu Constituency No. 9.
3. Tolkun Ergeshov - Chief of the interregional office of the Legal Aid Service at the Ministry of Justice. Previously worked in the internal affairs department of the Osh region. Ran for parliament in 2021.
4. Raimzhan Kurbanov - President of the "Kyrgyz Tili" society.
5. Rustam Mamazakirov - Temporarily unemployed. Previously a lecturer at the Civil Law and Process Department of Osh State University, a senior lecturer at the branch of the Russian State Social University in Osh, and a consultant to a member of the Jogorku Kenesh in 2016-2017.
6. Ilimbek Kubanychbekov - Assistant to a member of the Jogorku Kenesh. Participated in the 2020 elections representing the "Kyrgyzstan" party. Served twice as a deputy of the Ak-Tash village council.
7. Turdubek Orunbaev - Private entrepreneur and one of the founders of the socio-political party "Unity is Strength." Ran for the Osh City Council in April 2021 representing the "Yntymak" party.
