Extraordinary Elections in Osh District No. 7: Candidates Vying for Vacant Seat

On Sunday, April 28, extraordinary elections will be held in the Osh electoral district No. 7. The mandate became vacant after Aybek Osmonov resigned.

Thirteen candidates are participating in the elections:

  1. Abdilaziz Mamaev - A pensioner of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic. During his service in the internal affairs agencies, he held various leadership positions. He was a delegate to the People's Kurultai from Osh.
  2. Nurlan Tanabaev - Unemployed. In 2021, he ran for office in the Kurshab single-mandate district. He was previously the senior prosecutor of the prosecutor's office department in Osh.
  3. Tursunbay Bakir uulu - A frequent participant in election campaigns. He is the leader of the "ErK" party and has previously served as a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, an ombudsman, and an ambassador to Malaysia.
  4. Bakhtiyar Mamadzhanov - A delegate to the People's Kurultai and the director of the "Center for Support of Civil Initiatives" public foundation.
  5. Bekbolot Arzibaev - A deputy of the Osh city council. In 2021, he ran for Jogorku Kenesh from this district amidst a scandal involving alleged financing of the election campaign outside the electoral fund.
  6. Kaltarbek Kydyrov - An attorney and former judge of the Kyzyl-Kiya city court.
  7. Bekmurza Ergeshov - The director of the Osh municipal heating enterprise. He has made multiple attempts to enter the Jogorku Kenesh and has previously run for parliament in 2020 from the "Birimdik" party.
  8. Avazbek Abdugaparov - A former deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh VI convocation ("Republic Ata Jurt"). He has held various positions in Finpol and the Tax Service, served as a consultant to a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, and worked as an expert for the parliamentary faction "Republic Ata Jurt."
  9. Abdivali Baltabaev - A lecturer at Osh State University. He previously ran for elections in the Lenin district of Bishkek but withdrew from the race after the Central Election Commission approved the ballot text.
  10. Yulia Liliental - A candidate who previously ran in the Suzak electoral district No. 13, receiving 867 votes. She also attempted to run for president in 2020 but was disqualified for not taking the state language exam.
  11. Maksatbek Mamatkulov - A deputy of the Osh city council who worked as an assistant to the president of WMMAA (World Mixed Martial Arts Association) from 2017 to 2020.
  12. Emil Karaev - A municipal employee and the head of the MTU of the Sulayman-Too city hall in Osh. He previously worked as a senior specialist in the information and consultation center of the State Migration Service.
  13. Ilyichbek Ergeshov - A consultant to a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh. He was affiliated with the "Yyman Nuru" party during the parliamentary elections in the fall of 2020 and served as the deputy mayor of Osh for social affairs.
