President Sadyr Japarov congratulated the residents and guests of the capital on the Day of Bishkek. He emphasized that today Bishkek is the capital of sovereign Kyrgyzstan, serving as the political, economic, scientific, and cultural center of the country, with over 20 percent of the republic's population residing here.

"The capital, as an economic, transport, scientific, and cultural hub of the country, continues its path successfully in the new market conditions, amidst waves of change. As a result of the administrative-territorial reform, the area and population of our city will increase. These actions present us with new challenges. Bishkek is at the forefront of renewal from all sides. We have already taken steps to improve the architectural appearance and infrastructure. To attract visitors' attention, we first took on the repair of our roads and sidewalks. Gradually, we are paying attention to the exterior of major buildings. The construction of modern infrastructure facilities, buildings in the trade and service sectors is unfolding," highlighted the head of state.

He called on people to love and respect the capital. "Bishkek is the face of all of Kyrgyzstan. Dear citizens, I firmly believe that through our joint efforts, we will be able to transform our beloved city into a cozy, sunny city that will delight every visitor!" added Sadyr Japarov.

It is worth noting that this year the city of Bishkek turned 146 years old.
