Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov participated in the plenary session of the III Tashkent International Investment Forum during his working trip to Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The press service of the cabinet reported this.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev inaugurated the III Tashkent International Investment Forum, wishing for the successful conduct of the event, which is being attended by over 2,500 participants.
Akylbek Japarov noted the high tourist flow between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in recent years, as well as a twofold increase in bilateral trade. He mentioned that efforts are currently underway to increase the trade turnover to $2 billion. The head of the cabinet will deliver a speech on the forum's panel session regarding the general energy potential of the Kyrgyz Republic and the construction project of the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1.
The forum is attended by high-ranking officials from several countries, such as the Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore Sia Kian Puan, Vice President of Turkey Cevdet Yilmaz, as well as representatives of various international organizations and financial institutions including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, and the OPEC International Development Fund.
Experts emphasize that the Tashkent International Investment Forum is one of the most significant events for the region. The event program, which saw the participation of representatives from 93 countries, included a plenary session, over 50 expert discussion meetings, including panel sessions, round tables, and B2B negotiations.
