In the framework of a working trip to Tashkent (Uzbekistan), the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Akylbek Japarov, and the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, took part in the official ceremony of opening the new building of the Kyrgyzstan Embassy. The announcement was made by the government's press service.
According to the press service, Akylbek Japarov and Abdulla Aripov planted seedlings in the embassy's courtyard. They then visited exhibitions dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region, Kyrgyz-Uzbek bilateral relations, and left a message in the guest book.
Ambassadors from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, Turkey, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan in Uzbekistan, as well as diasporas, ethnic Kyrgyz, and local residents were also invited to the event. A yurt was set up for the guests.
It is noted that more than 1 million Kyrgyzstan citizens enter and exit Uzbekistan annually, with around 6,500 permanent and temporary residents, in addition to over 400,000 ethnic Kyrgyz residing there.
