in Politics / Kyrgyzstan - by

The Central Election Commission (ЦИК) has announced the results of the early elections for deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh in the Osh and Kara-Suu electoral districts. This information was provided by the press service of the Central Election Commission.

The elected deputies are as follows:

  • In the Osh district – Beckmurza Ergeshov, who received 10,097 votes, or 43.75%.
  • In the Kara-Suu district – Ilimbek Kubanychbekov, who received 7,599 votes (36.15%).

Earlier, the Central Election Commission announced the results for the Batken district. The winner there was Baktyyar Kalpaev, who garnered 11,830 votes (41.4%).

On April 28, elections were held for deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh in the Batken No. 2, Osh No. 7, and Kara-Suu No. 9 single-mandate electoral districts. The seats in the parliament became vacant after reports aired on the "Region TV" channel, owned by the head of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) Kamchybek Tashiev, regarding the connections of certain members of parliament with former customs officer Raimbek Matraimov. Some of them declined their mandates.

Specifically mentioned were the brother of the former customs officer Iskender Matraimov, Aibek Osmonov, Shailoobek Atazov, and the initiator of the foreign agents bill Nadir Narmatov. Respondents noted that these members of the Jogorku Kenesh should voluntarily resign or be stripped of their mandates.

Initially, the Central Election Commission prematurely terminated the mandate of the member of the "Ata Jurt Kyrgyzstan" faction Abdybakhab Boronbaev, who had previously headed the Southwest Customs before entering parliament. The mandate was then passed on to the next candidate on the party's electoral list, businessman Saidbek Zulpuev.

Subsequently, based on the submitted statements to relinquish the mandate, the Central Election Commission prematurely terminated the mandates of Jogorku Kenesh deputies Iskender Matraimov, Nurlan Razhabayev, and Aibek Osmonov. Since they entered parliament from single-mandate districts, presidential decrees were issued to appoint early elections in those districts.
