in Politics / Kyrgyzstan - by

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has strippedShayloobek Atazov of his parliamentary mandate. The meeting of the commission members took place yesterday.

Earlier it was reported that the Supreme Court partially upheld the decision of two instances to deprive Shayloobek Atazov of his parliamentary mandate.

The decision of the Central Election Commission to cancel the registration of the candidate for the Jogorku Kenesh in the Sverdlovsk single-mandate district, Abdurakhman Murtazaliev, and points 2 and 3 of the resolution of the Central Commission on Elections and Referendums "On the results of the repeat elections of the Jogorku Kenesh deputy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Sverdlovsk single-mandate district No. 29", in which Shayloobek Atazov was declared the winner, have been revoked.

The decision of the Administrative Court dated March 1 and the determination of the judicial collegium for administrative cases of the Bishkek City Court dated April 5, recognizing Abdurakhman Murtazaliev as the elected deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh in the Sverdlovsk district, have been upheld.

It is worth noting that in February 2022, Abdurakhman Murtazaliev won the elections in the Sverdlovsk district. However, the Supreme Court supported the decision of the Administrative Court of the capital and the resolution of the Central Election Commission to cancel the registration of Abdurakhman Murtazaliev. Shayloobek Atazov became the deputy from the Sverdlovsk district.

Abdurakhman Murtazaliev was removed from the race due to the testimonies of two women, with whom, as the candidate claimed, he had no relationship and they were not his campaigners.

It is important to mention that on March 1, 2024, the Administrative Court recognized Abdurakhman Murtazaliev, the candidate for the Sverdlovsk electoral district in February 2022, as the elected deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh.
