The Osh Regional Court has ruled former deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, Omurbek Bakirov, guilty of buying votes from electors. The information was confirmed by the ex-parliamentarian's lawyer, Nazgul Suinbaeva.
The panel did not accept the appeal and upheld the decision of the Nookat District Court, which found Omurbek Bakirov guilty of vote buying during the parliamentary elections and sentenced him to a fine of 2,000 calculation indicators (200,000 soms).
It is worth noting that on August 18, 2023, the Supreme Court upheld the decision that annulled the election results in the Kok-Zharsky district No. 4, where Omurbek Bakirov was elected as a deputy. On August 29, he was taken in for questioning at the Department of Internal Affairs of the Osh region. He was accused of buying votes from electors.
Instead of Omurbek Bakirov, the deputy of the Kok-Zharsky district with the second highest number of votes during the November 28, 2021 elections to the parliament became Ravshanbek Rysbaev.
