The court sent the case of activist Aftandil Zhorobekov for further investigation. This was reported by human rights activist Gulshaiyr Abdirasulova on her Facebook page. According to her, the court granted the prosecutor's motion, although additional expertise showed that Aftandil's posts did not incite mass riots.
However, the prosecutor unreasonably insisted on further investigation of allegedly other circumstances. This is how the court and the prosecutor's office, failing to find anything substantial, search for who knows what to imprison a young man for many years, who simply wanted to participate in a peaceful assembly in defense of the national flag," she wrote, adding that Aftandil Zhorobekov has been in pre-trial detention for the sixth month.
It is worth noting that Aftandil Zhorobekov is the organizer of a peaceful rally in defense of the flag. He announced a car rally scheduled for December 2, 2023, but the police obstructed the participants, and the rally did not take place. On December 9, the activist announced a peaceful gathering in Maxim Gorky Square. The day before this event, he was detained and placed in pre-trial detention center-1, where he remains to this day.
