Parliamentary Conflict: Deputy's Exclusion from CIS Delegation Sparks Controversy

in Politics / Kyrgyzstan - by

During a parliamentary meeting, the Committee on International Affairs, Defense, Security, and Migration presented a draft resolution "On Amending Some Resolutions of the Jogorku Kenesh," which proposed excluding Adakhan Madumarov from the parliamentary delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of CIS States and the Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation.

Deputy Iskhak Masaliev reminded that Adakhan Madumarov has not been deprived of his parliamentary mandate and requested not to rush to exclude his colleague from the commissions.

As a result, the draft resolution was withdrawn to the committee for reconsideration.

Meanwhile, on April 26, it became known that the Central Election Commission prematurely terminated the powers of Jogorku Kenesh deputy Adakhan Madumarov. The basis for this was the verdict of the Pervomaisky District Court. The former parliamentarian filed an appellate complaint against the decision of the Central Election Commission.

It is worth noting that on March 26, the Pervomaisky District Court found Adakhan Madumarov guilty in a case of state treason and fraud. However, due to the statute of limitations, the politician was released. Nevertheless, because his precautionary measure was not changed, Madumarov only left the pre-trial detention center on April 26.
