The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Akylbek Zaparov, recently chaired a working meeting at the State Customs Service. The discussions focused on the digitalization of processes within the Customs Service. Zaparov emphasized the importance of enhancing digitalization efforts, particularly at border checkpoints with neighboring countries such as China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
Zaparov highlighted the necessity of ensuring that all exported and imported goods are under the full control of the Customs Service in this era of modern technology. Negotiations are underway with China to ensure the smooth operation and increased capacity of the "Irkeshtam" and "Torugart" checkpoints.
In the near future, a new checkpoint named "Bedel" will be opened to further streamline customs processes. It was stressed that IT specialists should be actively involved in customs operations to ensure the flawless functioning of programs.
During the meeting, the importance of close cooperation with the State Tax Service was also underscored to enhance the efficiency of digitalization efforts in the customs sphere. All goods imported into the country are required to be registered in a special system, and sales are monitored through cash registers located in markets.
