The Swiss Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Olivier Bangerter, has handed over 320 computers, uninterruptible power supply sources (UPS), and Kaspersky licenses to the Minister of Health, Alymkadyr Beyshenaliev, to support the technical equipment of family doctor groups. The Ministry of Health's press center made the announcement.
The equipment has been distributed to 228 primary healthcare organizations in the south of the country and in Bishkek to strengthen electronic healthcare. The Ministry highlighted that this technical support will play a crucial role in improving the quality of primary healthcare services and non-communicable disease treatment. It will also facilitate monitoring and evaluation of programs and activities, leading to an enhancement in the population's health.
The development of electronic healthcare is a priority area in the government's health protection and healthcare system growth program for 2019-2030, "Healthy Person - Prosperous Country." Beyshenaliev stated that the advancement of electronic healthcare enhances the quality of medical services, reduces the burden on healthcare workers, and decreases patient waiting times.
The equipment was provided through the Swiss project "Efficient Management and Prevention of Non-communicable Diseases in Kyrgyzstan." As part of the project's first phase from January 2018 to June 2022, 419 computers and 358 printers were purchased for healthcare organizations in the primary healthcare level of Issyk-Kul, Naryn, Talas, and Chui regions, along with two servers at the Electronic Healthcare Center.
