Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has highlighted the main directions for the modernization of school education in Kyrgyzstan, as reported by the president's press service.

During a meeting chaired by the head of state, the focus was on the development of preschool and school education.

Minister of Education and Science Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva presented a new state program project for transforming school education called "Altyn Qazyq".

Japarov emphasized that the new program should not just be another reform for the sake of reform but should lay a solid foundation for the country's socio-economic development for decades to come. He stated that the fate of schoolchildren today determines the future of the entire state.

Referring to human capital as the nation's greatest wealth, the president affirmed that the state will spare no expense for educational purposes, noting that investments in human capital will yield dividends not just tenfold but at least a hundredfold in the future.

Japarov also addressed the unacceptable shortage of textbooks, directing the Ministry of Education and Science to prioritize the modernization of educational programs and improve their content alongside building new educational institutions.

He instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to completely resolve the issue of providing Kyrgyz students with modern textbooks based on globally recognized educational standards within a two-year period.

Recognizing the importance of accelerating the digitization of schools and integrating modern technologies into the educational process, Japarov highlighted the need to follow international practices that prohibit the use of mobile phones in schools.

He called for a broad public discussion on the benefits and drawbacks of mobile phones, which can distract students from the learning process.

The president stressed the negative impact of students' use of cell phones on the educational process and urged the Ministry of Education and Science to work with parents to make the right decisions regarding this issue.

In conclusion, he outlined a series of tasks for the development of preschool, school, and vocational education in the Kyrgyz Republic.
